Position: HEAD CHEF
The Cellar Restaurant at The Shady Rest Hotel is currently looking for a hard working Executive Chef with strict management skills and previous experience in a similar position. Must be able to work extended hours and have a passion for food.
The incumbent must hold a degree in Hospitality Management or Commercial Cookery. List of duties are as follows:
• Ensure quality is maintained in all departments of kitchen • Upholding kitchen structure and rostering staff • Liaising with vendors for food and equipments supplies • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and sanitation in kitchen • Menu creating and costing • Control stock in kitchen, purchasing where necessary • Monitoring kitchen expenses,wastage etc. • Managing, disciplining and training staff • Completing staff performance reports and present to the GM • May be asked to converse with guests for handling complaints in food or service • To ensure safety guidelines are followed properly by staff in kitchen • To act on behalf of the Restaurant manager in his absence • Constant quality checks • All other duties associate with the position.
