Reports to: Executive Chef.

This position incumbent is responsible for the preparation of high quality meals in accordance with company standards, menu specifications and production schedules. He/she is also responsible for overseeing kitchen helpers in the preparation of meals, while meeting required safety, hygiene and quality standards. Will be working closely with the Executive Chef and will provide support in the kitchen when the Executive Chef is away. Experienced kitchen leader with proven ability to supervise the production of upscale food at high volume levels. Purpose

To achieve food and beverage revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals by overseeing preparation of the menu and managing the operation of the kitchen Key Skills and Requirements: • Delegation: Assign tasks using such techniques as needs analysis, individual skills assessment, objective setting and communication. • Organization: Demonstrate ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage resources. • Performance management, supervisory: Demonstrate ability to relate to, communicate with and motivate employees to sustain high performance and quality levels. • Planning: Skillfully determine whether tasks should be attempted, identifying the most effective way of completing the task and preparing to overcome expected difficulties. • Three to four years experience or more in cooking and managing a culinary team in an upscale food and beverage operation.

Your success will lie in further nurturing our local staff and expanding their skill base to ensure we continue to improve our product as well as continuing to be seen as a 'preferred employer'. You will be supported but as always there will be accountability for working within your budget while still maintaining high standards of excellence in our product

Commencing June 2016, this position is 6 days per week with at least 48 hours per week and split hours within a day. It requires someone who is flexible, resilient, patient and approachable; possess a good sense of humor, display sober habits and a non -smoker. We therefore seek a professional team player that will work with the other HOD's and Management to continually improve the hotel’s quality and service.

This is a laid-back, tropical environment where the local people are proud of their culture and family heritage and where ex-pat workers are expected to set positive examples both personally and professionally.

This is a 2-year contract and the remuneration package that includes a competitive annual salary, plus bonus, free accommodation costs, reimbursed return airfares (after a qualifying period), company paid immigration costs. This excellent package is underpinned by the benefits associated with working for the leading hotel group in the region and with the support of a progressive and professional management team.

Due to the location it is probably only suitable for someone single or married without children.
