Private Island Resort – Chief Engineer
The Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa in the Cook Islands has an exciting opening for a qualified and experienced Chief Engineer in an amazing location.
The successful applicant will be experienced in all aspects of hotel maintenance and engineering that are essential for a boutique resort on a small remote island.
You will be hands on, with a results-orientated approach. Management skills and leading by example are key. Applicants should have experience with:
• Sewerage system • Water systems • Refrigeration • Electrical, including back-up generators • Air conditioning • Plumbing • Carpentry • Mechanics (boats, road vehicles) • Preventative maintenance • Managing refurbishment and construction projects including basic drawings, costings, certification of contractors claims, tenders, liaison with suppliers and contractors et cetera.
Candidates with current permission to work in the Cook Islands preferred, although others with the right qualifications and skills will be considered. Experience in a comparable isolated location for a private island resort will be an advantage.
We offer a 2 year contract and salary is dependent upon experience.
Couples considered, if your partner also has experience in resorts, e.g. Spa Therapist, Restaurant Manager/Supervisor, Chef. (As an isolated island with a population of around 2000 this position may not be suitable for families with young children, particularly of school age.)
