Private Island Resort – Sous Chef
The Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa in the Cook Islands has an exciting opening for a hands-on qualified and experienced Sous Chef in an amazing location.
This is an ideal position for an up and coming sous chef or a talented and experienced chef de partie looking for his first sous chef position.
The successful applicant will be experienced in all aspects of the kitchen operation and able to produce a quality cuisine in a remote location. You will report to the Head Chef and deputise in his/her absence. Ongoing training of the local staff and ability to adapt to life on a small island are a requisite for this challenging, yet rewarding position.
Candidates with current permission to work in the Cook Islands preferred, although others with the right qualifications and skills will be considered. Experience in a comparable isolated location for a private island resort will be an advantage.
We offer a 2 year contract and salary is dependent upon experience.
Couples considered, if your partner also has experience in resorts, e.g. Spa Therapist, Restaurant Manager/Supervisor, Chef. (As an isolated island with a population of around 2000 this position may not be suitable for families with young children, particularly of school age.)
