Operations Manager: Inbound Tour Operator, Vanuatu.
Looking for a new, exciting challenge for 2018? We are Vanuatu’s largest established inbound tour operator, based in Port Vila, with operations in outer islands. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced person to join our company as Operations Manager, supporting the General Manager.
We pride ourselves on the service we deliver, so you will need to have the skill-set to successfully manage the day to day operations of the business. If you are motivated, can motivate those around you and are passionate about the travel and tourism industry, then this role is for you. Primarily, the role will involve managing a team of 40 employees. You will oversee the performance and productivity of the team and successfully lead the group to achieve the organisations’ goals and objectives. As Operating Manager, key responsibilities will include:
Key Duties & Responsibilities: • Ensuring the efficient and seamless day to day running of the business • Reporting to the General Manager and Directors • Strong background in financial data entry and preparation of monthly P&L statements • Overall management of employees • Staff rostering, training and development, in collaboration with the General Manager • Payroll management • Implementation of operational and safety policies and procedures • Logistics planning and management • Fleet maintenance • Marine operation experience (glass bottom boat) • Networking and relationship building with stakeholders including sub-contractors, regulative authorities and cruise-ship personnel.
Skills and Experience Required: The position primarily involves supporting the General Manager and leading a team of dedicated employees. A minimum of 5 years management experience is essential. Key requirements include:
• Previous experience managing/supervising a team and a proven track record of achieving success • Previous experience with financial data entry and preparation of monthly accounts and payroll • Implementation of operational and safety policies and procedures. • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload • Strong attention to detail • Excellent communication skills. • Excellent relationship management skills • Excellent customer service skills • Excellent networking and relationship management skills • Logistics planning and management • Fleet maintenance • Marine operation experience (glass bottom boat) • Technologically savvy including experience with Microsoft Office and Xero Accounting software.
The Package: The position is based in Port Vila, Vanuatu and will be subject to 3 references from previous employers, relevant health and police checks. An excellent salary and benefits package is offered.
