Category: _RESORT_JOBS

Country: Fiji

Location: Qamea Island, Taveuni

Position: Resort Management Couple

Salary: On application

Job Description:

Located on idyllic Qamea Island is Maqai Eco Surf Resort. A nine bure resort set on 5 acres specialising in surfing and eco- adventure tourism. Are you a dynamic management couple and highly proficient at leading a team? Are you hands on - can you roll your sleeves up and get stuck in on a gorgeous and remote Fijian island, perhaps hauling boats in the middle of the night? Do you like wearing flips flops and bula shirts and love people, the ocean, yoga, hiking surfing? Then we want to hear from you!

Applicants must have experience in accounting management, general bookings and experience running resorts,(preferably in the pacific) as well as other relevant expertise. One partner must have yoga instructor training and the other be a competent surfer. Do you have the ability to lead, train, supervise, motivate, discipline and monitor the performance of a loyal and hardworking team in accordance with the Local Employment Law of Fiji and the company policy? Is a tropical paradise your preferred office? Can you blend professionalism with Fiji-time? Are you up for the challenge to continue the growth of a small resort that is at the forefront in the market? You may be right for us.

We’re looking to fill the position for a resort management couple to undertake and oversee General Management /Activities/Administrative Support. Our resort is Itaukei lease and training of local management staff is part of the lease agreement, which continues to be our aim. You will need to be focused on staff training to a high level and be responsible for high level guest satisfaction. Our senior staff have been with us for 5- 7 years and you are supported by an office and assistant Fijian manager. Fluency in English is paramount. General Management requirements: The priority is the day-to-day management of resort, to get it humming with a nice mix of village feel under-pinned by professionalism – the latter is obligatory; in order to grow this amazing location on the Fijian tourism scene. You will be supported by New Zealand Directors. An all-round background is preferred, this is a very hands-on role, a proactive approach to ensure we have back-ups for everything; there are no roads, no shops, etc., which is a major allure of the resort. If you require: 5 star living quarters, suit and tie attire, daily extended coffee breaks and 2 hour lunches, consistent office setting, malls, and expertly trained staff - you may as well skip this job. However … If you are comfortable with "expecting the unexpected" and being unflappable, have experience in managing resorts preferably in Fiji on an island or the pacific, or have experience in hospitality, we look forward to hearing from you! Please send a CV and recent photo.

Salary is dependent on experience. Salary package includes: Couples accommodation, meals, work permits, Return airfares from Auckland or Sydney. Term is 1 year with the option of extending if both parties agree.
