Applicants must have experience in accounting management, general bookings and experience running resorts,(preferably in the pacific) as well as other relevant expertise. One partner must have yoga instructor training and the other be a competent surfer. Do you have the ability to lead, train, supervise, motivate, discipline and monitor the performance of a loyal and hardworking team in accordance with the Local Employment Law of Fiji and the company policy? We’re looking to fill the position for a resort management couple to undertake and oversee General Management /Activities/Administrative Support. Our resort is Itaukei lease and training of local management staff is part of the lease agreement, which continues to be our aim. You will need to be focused on staff training to a high level and be responsible for high level guest satisfaction. Our senior staff have been with us for 5- 7 years and you are supported by an office and assistant Fijian manager. Fluency in English is paramount. General Management requirements: The priority is the day-to-day management of resort, to get it humming with a nice mix of village feel under-pinned by professionalism – the latter is obligatory; in order to grow this amazing location on the Fijian tourism scene. You will be supported by New Zealand Directors. An all-round background is preferred, this is a very hands-on role, a proactive approach to ensure we have back-ups for everything; there are no roads, no shops, etc., which is a major allure of the resort. If you require: 5 star living quarters, suit and tie attire, daily extended coffee breaks and 2 hour lunches, consistent office setting, malls, and expertly trained staff - you may as well skip this job. However … If you are comfortable with "expecting the unexpected" and being unflappable, have experience in managing resorts preferably in Fiji on an island or the pacific, or have experience in hospitality, we look forward to hearing from you! Salary is dependent on experience. Salary package includes: Couples accommodation, meals, work permits, Return airfares from Auckland or Sydney. Term is 1 year with the option of extending if both parties agree.
