The Role
We are currently looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Apia office in Samoa to undertake the design, management and delivery of various infrastructure projects that range across education, civil infrastructure, health, government, religious institutions, renewable energy and tourism. Responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate project design activities and manage project teams - Prepare engineering concepts for proposed developments - Review all discipline related technical documentation - Attend site inspections - Act as the primary liaison for all client/contractor enquiries - Provide technical expert advice on designs and engineering processes - Prepare and/or assist in bid proposals - Act as a mentor/leader in the development of local Civil/Structural personnel
To be successful you must have 7+ years’ experience in a similar role along with internationally recognised tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or similar. You must also be able to demonstrate:
- Exposure to reinforced concrete, steel and timber designs - Knowledge of cyclone & earthquake designs - Ability to lead small teams and a commitment to mentoring and coaching of personnel - Experience in building and infrastructure projects throughout the Pacific
Familiarity with relevant standards and building codes (e.g. Australian and New Zealand) and fully conversant with standard General Conditions of Contracts such as FIDIC and AS2124 will be highly regarded.
